Dragon Motor Bikes

Marc & Patrizio have known each other for quiet some time now after meeting each other on a track day many years ago and are always working together on various bike and car projects…Marc in Durham and Patrizio in Shildon, and are now going to create  the Dragon Motor Bike.

Patrizio owns PM Motorbikes in Shildon and like us is always flat out and bursting at the seams.

He has a vast depth of automotive experience, going back many years whilst working in a GT Sports car team in Europe, but never loosing his passion for bikes, in particular those wonderful smoky 2 strokes that are so missed on our roads now days. He’s a dammed good rider too. When he came to the UK he setup PM Motorbikes in Shildon and his business has grown ever since. Over the years Turbopacs has found its focus in turbos and like Patrizio is flat out most of the time BUT also attracts bikers for tuning, diagnostics and repairs as well as some really complex upgrades, with our Bike Dyno being very popular with our weekly FREE biker’s mornings…on most Saturday mornings between 9-12.

Yes you heard right FREE…only on saturday mornings…for bikers…Dyno power runs…great fun fantastic atmosphere.

Bikers have cars and many cars drivers have bikes, so over the years we have been able to cater for both, and working with Patrizio makes the link natural and easy to cater for. Its this link that has lead to this project. Neither of us has easy access to either of our Dynos due to work loads and so a plan has gradually emerged. Patrizios business seems to be gradually being drawn into more and more in depth engineering processes, linked to the detailed repairs and tuning that he undertakes. He has a vast range of engineering tools, such as lathes, milling machines etc and the experience to use it, and is able to undertake everything from complete suspension strip and rebuilds through to gas flowed heads and cam dialing set ups and of course services, repairs and diagnostics.

With space being a key issue for both of us, and the ease with which we work together and our love of good Italian coffee and bikes, we thought it would be a great idea to open a Dragon Motor Bikes close to Turbopacs.

Patricio has the same Dyno and software as us and brings this to this mutual project along with his fantastic range of skills and knowledge and we bring our car Dyno and our marketing skills, as well as our range of ECU enhancements called Responsechips. PM Motorbikes will remain in Shildon catering for the engineering side of the busines with the new centre focusing initially on tuning work e.g. remaps, carb tuning and ECU remaps. Between us we will also be able to cover all aspects of bike maintainance and tuning and attract specialist tuning work for 2 strokes and cars fitted with bike and car carbs along with comprehensive engine work for cars and bikes.

 

 

The plan? The Reality !

To create a dual focus motorbike tuning and repair centre for motorbikes and specialist car tuning, BUT allow us to jointly cater for specialist automotive tuning that appears to be very thin on the ground, such as 2 stroke tuning, repair, rebuild and tuning, carb installation and tuning on bikes as well as car applications ! This will spill over into comprehensive engine preparation for cars and bikes, such as full engine re-builds, gas flowed heads, up-rated cam installation and even turbo/supercharger upgrades and allow both of us to have the space and time to tune and test bikes and cars with less interruption to both our businesses and then see what nature has in store for us.
