XEDE Distributors for the UK
We are pleased to announce that we have added to our range of tuning solutions with the introduction of the Xede range of engine management ECU modules. Whats really exciting about this is that Xede offer covergage for many vehicles previously accepted as being untouchable. Developed by Chip Torque in Australia we have become their UK based dealer and hope to cater for the demand that we know exists here in the UK.
In stock form, the 335i TT petrol is a serious machine, but fortunately, BMW left quite a bit on the table to work with. Conventional OBD/Flash methods are unavailable for this vehicle however thankfully Xede have been able to offer this superb solution to owners who want to release the hidden potencial in this vehicle. Lets face it 305bhp is not exactly setting the world alight. Through precise and methodical calibration with the Xede computer, we are able to provide you with another 80bhp and 70-80lbft of torque. These superb gains are achieved with only an additional 2psi of boost from the clever factory twin turbo set up. Product Profile
The XEDE is an interceptor style Engine Management System. It generates changes in fueling and ignition timing by changing the factory ECU’s load and crank reference input signals. It has the additional functions of boost control, two stage intercooler water spray control or potentially any other on/off or PWM function including injector drive for an additional injector. The XEDE can generate data logs and importantly can also store two separate programs which can be changed at the flick of a switch while driving, e.g. High/Low boost or Power/Economy programs.
How the XEDE Processor worksThe XEDE Processor integrates with an existing (usually factory) Engine Management System. The operation of the XEDE is to modify the signals (Voltage or Frequency and Crankshaft Reference signals) before the main PCM/ECU sees the signals. By changing the values of these signals, the resultant outputs from the PCM will be changed. If, for example, we effectively reduce the voltage that the PCM sees on the MAP sensor wire at Full Load, the PCM will see a signal that equates to less load. Using this modified input signal, the PCM will open the injectors for less time as it expects the engine is under less load and therefore requires less fuel, thus leaning out the mixtures. Moving the crankshaft reference signal will move the ignition timing (timing advance).
